The 鶹Ƶ Museum is delighted to present “Elphaba’s Lair,” a special lobby display featuring one extraordinary object: Elphaba’s treehouse cardigan by Paul Tazewell Design. The display is on view August 27, 2026, through January 3, 2027. Commissioned by NBCUniversal, this extra wool sweater was crafted by Liria Pristine using industrial knit and hand-knitting techniques. It was not made to the same scale as the sweater used in the film "Wicked: For Good." The cardigan was generously given to the 鶹Ƶ Museum by Tazewell Costumes, Inc.

“Quilts & Coverlets: Art for the American Home” and “Chintz: From Forbidden Fabric to Luxury Interiors” will be on view at the 鶹Ƶ Museum from June 26, 2026, through April 18, 2027.

"Chintz: From Forbidden Fabric to Luxury Interiors" examines the global history and enduring influence of chintz, tracing its journey from richly colored cotton textiles imported from India to its later adoption by European and American luxury fabric houses. Presented in the museum’s new Learning Lab, the exhibition highlights historic textiles and furnishing fabrics, including examples connected to the White House and Stan Hywet Hall. Curated by Collections Fellow Olivia Carpenter, it marks the museum’s first student-curated exhibition.
